Summer Business Language Class
Aug. 4-Sept. 15: Monday evenings
The classes & texts are designed for
the students who want to travel to China for business or pleasure.
Conversation and application: designed for learners
at a pre-intermediate level who have learned basic Chinese.
A communicative approach: The fundamental goal of the text and lessons
is to improve learner's business Chinese communication abilities. The
vocabulary words are commonly used. The conversations are short and
interesting in order to motivate students to "role play" and
be able to use large portion of them.
An integrated approach: To communicate with Chinese speakers but also
relate knowledge of Chinese business culture and economic information.
The class will help students speak Mandarin comfortably, and also make
Chinese people feel comfortable.
An interactive approach: it allows students of varying language experience
to group together and learn. Therefore students will not have to be
at an advanced level.
The language used in the class is Mandarin with about 20 % in English
for informational introduction, if it is needed.
