PROGRAMS
AND PUBLICATIONS
We have a diverse membership (over 600 strong), for whom we provide
programs on classical and contemporary Chinese culture, history, art,
language, politics, business, and much more. For example, we've sponsored
workshops about adopting Chinese babies; we've organized tours along
the Silk Road and the Yangtze river, and we've helped local entrepreneurs
to understand more about doing business in China at our China
Business Network luncheons. And every year --during Chinese
New Year -- we have a gala banquet and auction, Chinese style. For a
list of events since January 2000 click

The council also publishes the NW China Council Quarterly
-- which keeps members updated on council programs and news, and
also provides information about China-related activities in the community.

In 2000-2001
Northwest China Council sponsored a lecture series Balancing Heaven
and Earth: China's Quest for Stability. Video tapes were made of
the presentations and are available. For details call (503) 973-5451,
write or email the China
Council office.
