More Than Just Needles: An Introduction to Chinese Medicine

ABOUT THE PROGRAM:

Explore the rich history of traditional Chinese medicine and learn about various techniques used to promote health and well-being. Learn about the concept of Qi and energy meridians, and difference between Chinese and western therapies, and how they complement each other.  Learn what conditions Chinese medicine can best treat and the various therapies such as acupuncture, shiatsu, qigong, tuina, and herbal medicine. A licensed acupuncturist will provide sample treatments to interested participants".

ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Rhenna St. Clair, MAcOM, LAc is a 2000 graduate of Oregon College of Oriental Medicine’s master’s program. After graduation, she practiced acupuncture in New Mexico for seven years. She currently treats patients in her private practice and serves as OCOM’s Alumni Relations and Continuing Education Coordinator. In her position, she supports OCOM’s graduates and plans the college’s Continuing Education Seminar series for acupuncturists and other practitioners around the Northwest. In her spare time, she practices tai chi and qigong, paints in oil and watercolor, studies the Chinese language, spends time with her family and friends, and shops at farmers’ markets.
