NWCC 25th Annual Meeting
with Erhu Virtuoso Wang Guowei

Celebrate the Council’s 25th anniversary with a tasty banquet dinner and music by erhu virtuoso Wang Guowei and accompanist Susan Cheng on Chinese dulcimer.

Wang Guowei is one of the most outstanding erhu soloists of his generation. Born 1961 in Shanghai, Wang joined the Shanghai Traditional Orchestra at age 17, later becoming erhu soloist and concertmaster. Mr. Wang is currently artistic director of the New York-based ensemble Music From China and teaches at Wesleyan University. Susan Cheng, founder and Executive Director Music From China, is a member of the orchestra performing on yangqin (hammered dulcimer), zheng (21-string zither), and ruan (guitar).
