The Search for Common Ground
with Ray Olson and Mel Gurtov
This program will feature excerpts from the film “Human Rights in
China: The Search for Common Ground,” by Ray Olson. Following the
screening Ray Olson and Mel Gurtov, PSU Professor of Political Science
and International Studies, will consider the issues raised in the film
and respond to questions from the audience.
The film manages to put forward different views and perspectives and
accomplishes a genuine and poignant dialogue without being overwhelmed
by the usual sound and fury surrounding the controversy. This by itself
is a great feat.
